If you’re planning a trip to Munich this summer and wish to travel stylishly, Lufthansa has fantastic business-class redemption options available for you. For the first time, the German airline is introducing its Airbus A380 superjumbo jet— the world’s largest passenger aircraft— for regular flights from Denver International Airport (DEN).
The service will operate from DEN to Munich International Airport (MUC) throughout the summer, specifically from April 30 to September 30. Currently, passengers can reserve business-class seats to Bavaria’s capital from Denver, as well as from cities like Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.
Special thanks to our colleagues at View from the Wing for highlighting this exciting deal. Their website pointed out the A380’s spacious double-decker design, which features 78 business-class seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration, offering numerous opportunities for award redemptions.
Availability is looking great, especially in May and June from Denver and Boston, with prices starting at 88,000 miles each way, plus taxes and fees. If you’re departing from LA or D.C., aim for July to snag the best business-class redemption rates.
To explore this deal, I utilized United Airlines’ website to check for available award flights since I don’t have enough miles in my Lufthansa Miles & More account, which restricts me from searching without the requisite balance.
Tip: If you wish to use miles accrued with United, visit United’s website and click on the “30-day calendar” link to see the most availability for your desired travel month. Don’t forget to click the “lowest” link under the “Business” tab to sort results and view the best redemption options at the top.

Sample Flights
As mentioned earlier, we found the best availability with the lowest redemption rates during the following months:
- May (departing from Denver)
- June (departing from Boston)
- July (departing from LA and D.C.)
For example, a nonstop flight from DEN to MUC on May 7 is available for 88,000 miles, plus only $5.60 in taxes and fees.
Additionally, you can book an entire round-trip itinerary for 176,000 miles and about $130 in taxes and fees.
Related: United Airlines has launched the largest lounge ever at Denver International Airport.
You can also book a flight from Dulles International Airport (IAD) directly to MUC in July at the same rate of 88,000 miles nonstop.
As noted, May is particularly favorable for finding business-class availability from Boston to Germany. A flight in mid-May from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to MUC can be secured for just 88,000 miles. The return journey is available at the same redemption rate, making the round trip total 176,000 miles and approximately $136 in taxes and fees.
Here’s a calendar view displaying the business-class availability for flights out of Los Angeles in late June and early July, demonstrating a wealth of options for favorable redemptions.
It’s important to note that while booking from Los Angeles, the lower redemption rates may involve layovers in Denver. Nonetheless, obtaining business-class seats from the West Coast to Munich for 88,000 miles each way is a deal that’s hard to ignore.
