United and its partners—Air Canada, Austrian, Lufthansa, and Swiss Air—offer a $715 fare that includes one checked bag and a standard-sized carry-on in Regular Economy.

They also have a $515 Basic Economy fare, which has the following restrictions:

• NO advance seat assignments.
• NO checked bags included—$75 each way for the first bag, $100 for the second.
• NO changes allowed.
• NO cancellations permitted—cancellations after the 24-hour risk-free period render the Basic Economy fare non-refundable.
• Be aware that many online travel agencies might not display these fares correctly as Basic Economy.
