We’re deep into the summer travel season, but it’s not too late to plan a last-minute trip. However, now is also a great time to consider your fall travel options, especially for international destinations where booking flights three to five months in advance can yield the best deals.

This summer and fall, we’ve spotted excellent business-class flight deals to Dublin with Aer Lingus and American Airlines—both available through Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan—for as low as 45,000 miles each way.

Summer is the busiest time in Dublin, meaning both crowds and airfare are higher, making this deal particularly appealing. If you travel in September or October, you’ll enjoy milder temperatures (don’t forget that sweater!), fewer tourists, and the stunning autumn foliage.

Here’s how you can snag a business-class award flight to Dublin for just 45,000 miles.

Note: Prices and availability were accurate at the time of writing.

Flying Frugal’s Deal of the Day Overview

Travel Dates: Now through mid-October

Is It a Good Deal? Business-class fares to Dublin typically soar to about $5,000. By using 45,000 Alaska miles, you’re effectively getting around 11 cents per mile, which is a fantastic value, especially since Flying Frugal values Alaska Mileage Plan miles at 1.5 cents each.

We utilized the Seats.aero tool to quickly discover award availability between the U.S. and Dublin, making it easy to check for available dates from your desired airport.

Good availability can be found through mid-October, but you’ll need a Seats.aero Pro account for searches beyond 60 days in advance.

Considering that cash fares can exceed $5,000 each way, redeeming just 45,000 miles for a business-class ticket to Dublin is an outstanding value. You’ll arrive refreshed and well-rested, enjoying lie-flat seats and luxurious inflight dining.

Flight Pricing
ALASKA AIRLINES

If you lack Alaska miles or Bilt Points (which can transfer to Alaska’s Mileage Plan), you can book a flight to Dublin for 50,000 Avios via British Airways. Though you’ll incur about $146 in taxes and fees, British Airways is a transfer partner for many credit card programs, including American Express, Chase, and Capital One. Thus, it makes sense to invest the extra 5,000 points and $120 in taxes for a premium lie-flat seat.

Even with these additional costs, redeeming through British Airways Club provides a value of 9.76 cents each.

Note: British Airways Club isn’t a direct transfer partner of Citi ThankYou Rewards, but you can transfer points to Qatar Airways Privilege Club and then from there to British Airways.

Earning Points or Miles for Flying Frugal’s Deal

Here are some great cards for earning Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles or for transferring points:

  • Alaska Airlines Visa Signature®: Earn 50,000 bonus miles plus “buy one ticket, get one at just taxes and fees” after spending $3,000 in the first 90 days.
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Earn 100,000 bonus points and a $500 Chase Travel℠ promo credit after spending $5,000 in the first three months.
  • American Express® Gold Card: Earn up to 100,000 Membership Rewards Points after spending $6,000 in the first six months (offers may vary).
  • Bilt Mastercard®: No welcome bonus, but allows point transfers to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.

Flying Frugal founder Brian Kelly serves as a Bilt adviser and investor.

Final Thoughts

With business-class flights frequently exceeding $5,000, this represents an excellent opportunity for travel to Dublin during peak season.

With Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan redemptions starting at 45,000 miles and British Airways Club at 50,000 Avios, it’s the perfect moment to secure your fall travel plans to Dublin.
