Few pleasures rival the joy of a complimentary cookie, especially when it’s the famous chocolate chip cookie from DoubleTree by Hilton.
This Monday, you won’t need to be a hotel guest to indulge. In honor of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day on August 4, DoubleTree locations across the U.S. are giving away both classic and allergy-friendly chocolate chip cookies to anyone who stops by.
That’s right: whether you’re staying at the hotel or just nearby, the cookie is yours.

“On National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, we’re delighted to share the warmth of our hospitality beyond hotel guests, offering a taste of the welcoming service that makes travelers feel cherished,” said Shawn McAteer, brand leader at DoubleTree by Hilton. “The chocolate chip cookie at check-in is a timeless symbol of the thoughtful gestures signature to the DoubleTree experience.”
First introduced in 1986, these cookies are a vital part of the DoubleTree experience; Hilton states that the brand gives away over 20 million cookies each year. To promote inclusivity, DoubleTree has also launched a gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan option made in an allergen-free facility.

Some might even say these cookies are stellar — in 2019, the DoubleTree cookie was the first food ever baked in space, thanks to astronauts at the International Space Station. You can now view that special cookie at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
Later this year, DoubleTree will introduce the “cookie-tini,” a cookie-themed martini at Piebird, the brand’s new restaurant concept launching in select hotels.
With nearly 400 DoubleTree locations across the U.S. offering free cookies, Hilton has also shared the recipe so you can enjoy them at home.
