The Matrix Airfare Search by ITA Software shows a fare of $595 for Basic Economy. If you use the same dates on American Airlines, you should find prices of $395 (Basic Economy) and $595 (Regular Economy).

The $595 fare offered by American, British Airways, Finnair, and Iberia includes a regular economy ticket with one checked bag and a standard carry-on included.

For the $395 fare, which is a Basic Economy or Economy Light ticket, please note the following:

• NO advance seat assignments permitted
• NO checked bags included – first bag is $75 each way, and the second bag costs $100
• NO changes allowed
• NO cancellations allowed – if you cancel after the 24-hour risk-free period, the Basic Economy fare will hold no value for future travel
• Many online travel agencies fail to accurately label these fares as BASIC ECONOMY from American, British Airways, Finnair, and Iberia.

Starting January 8th, 2025, travelers to the UK will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), which costs £16 and is valid for 2 years. You do not need an ETA if you’re transiting through the UK, provided you remain airside. However, if you choose to go through UK border control, an ETA is required. Be cautious of fraudulent websites that sell ETAs for prices higher than the £16 charged by the UK Government.
