Allegiant Air is making waves in 2025 with its latest expansion announcement: it will begin new nonstop service to Fort Myers, Florida.
Starting in November, travelers will have access to brand-new routes from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) to three destinations: Allentown, Pennsylvania; Appleton, Wisconsin; and Des Moines, Iowa.
Fort Myers marks a new addition to Allegiant’s existing network, which already includes a substantial presence in the region.

With a significant route system from Punta Gorda—located just under 40 miles north of RSW—Allegiant is enhancing its service across Florida’s Charlotte County.
The new Fort Myers flights are part of a much larger expansion, which includes seven routes announced on Monday evening, reinforcing Allegiant’s focus on connecting smaller cities with popular vacation spots.
Additional cities included in the expansion are on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, as well as various locations in Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, and even New Orleans.
All routes are set to kick off in mid-November, just in time for the busy holiday travel period.

A Year of Growth in 2025
The announcement of these new routes is the latest move in a year filled with growth for Allegiant, which includes a remarkable expansion of 44 routes initially revealed last year.
This strategy reinforces the airline’s focus on destinations like Gulf Shores, which has recently entered the Allegiant network.
“It’s an ideal destination for our services,” noted Chief Commercial Officer Drew Wells during remarks on July 9 from Allegiant’s headquarters in Las Vegas.

“Many people drive several hours for a vacation there,” Wells continued. “We’re excited to make that journey a breeze with a direct flight.”
Gulf Shores is just one of several destinations gaining new Allegiant service in this latest announcement.
Toledo will now connect to four Florida locales starting in November, while Fort Wayne will have Allegiant flights to five Sunshine State cities, and Des Moines will gain access to seven.
Promotional Flight Discounts
In celebration of the new routes, Allegiant is offering special fares starting as low as $49 one-way on select routes if booked by July 30, for travel until February 10, 2026.
Future Outlook
While Allegiant is known for its limited onboard amenities and in-flight entertainment, the CEO mentioned plans to potentially introduce in-flight Wi-Fi, having held discussions with Starlink, the same provider United Airlines is collaborating with for its jets.
