Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders, take note! Air Canada Aeroplan is giving you a flight credit of 5,000 Aeroplan points simply for being a cardholder (see rates and fees).

To claim your credit, just register here. Note that this promotion is exclusively for the primary cardholder and does not extend to authorized users.

How to Claim Your 5,000-Point Aeroplan Reward Certificate with Chase Sapphire Reserve

To earn your 5,000-point Aeroplan flight certificate, simply provide your name, Aeroplan loyalty number, and the last four digits of your Chase Sapphire Reserve. This allows you to save 5,000 points on your next Aeroplan redemption, although taxes and fees will still apply.

You must register by August 18, and the flight credit will be valid for 365 days from when it’s credited to your account. It is applicable only for new bookings and cannot be shared among multiple travelers.

Moreover, the certificate is not transferable to another Aeroplan account, but you can use it for a flight reward booked for someone else using your Aeroplan points.

Fortunately, there are no restrictions on using this credit exclusively for Air Canada flights, so it can also be applied to partner awards.

If you apply this credit toward an award costing over 5,000 Aeroplan points, you may redeem extra points from your account to cover the difference. If you need to change or cancel your award ticket, as per the booking rules, the certificate can be restored to your account without losing its expiration date.

Enhancing Your Aeroplan Account

The good news is that you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan at a 1:1 ratio for award flights.

For instance, one of the best ways to use Aeroplan points is for short-haul economy flights under 500 miles on United Airlines and Air Canada, which may cost as little as 6,000 points. With the 5,000-point flight certificate, you’d only need 1,000 additional points from your account.

If you don’t already have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, it’s not too late to take advantage of the current welcome offer: earn 100,000 bonus points plus a $500 Chase Travel℠ credit after spending $5,000 within the first three months from account opening. This is one of the best offers available for this popular travel card.

If you’re a Chase Sapphire Reserve holder (or add it before August 18), make sure to register for this promotion. You’ll then have a full year to use your 5,000-point Aeroplan flight credit.

According to our August 2025 valuations, 5,000 Aeroplan points are valued at $70 and can also be sufficient to add a stopover to an Aeroplan award ticket. Having this certificate on hand can save you money and enhance your future travel plans.
