American Express has introduced a revamped app experience designed to help top-tier cardholders easily locate, enroll in, and monitor their statement credits and benefits.
This enhancement is particularly useful for anyone who has lost track of their credits or is unsure about which ones need activation.
The upgraded tool is currently available for holders of The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. This update coincides with the recent refresh of the personal and business cards, both of which feature new statement credits and benefits.
This rollout follows the launch of the new Amex Travel app, which aids travelers in exploring destinations, planning trips, and checking wait times at Centurion Lounges prior to their flights.
Together, these enhancements signal Amex’s broader initiative to modernize its digital interface, making premium travel and shopping benefits more accessible.
How to Locate Your Platinum Benefits in the App
To begin, open the American Express app on your iOS or Android device. Select the “Membership” tab, choose your Platinum card, and tap “Explore Benefits.”
You will find a comprehensive list of available statement credits and perks associated with your card.
Each benefit displays the amount you’ve utilized and what remains for the current period—be it monthly, quarterly, biannual, or annual—allowing you to identify which credits might need to be redeemed before they expire.
For instance, from the screenshots below, you’ll notice I still have to use my new up-to-$300 biannual hotel statement credit, have $5 left for my monthly digital entertainment credit (now up to $25 per month), and haven’t utilized the up-to-$75 quarterly Lululemon credit (valid at U.S. stores, excluding outlets, and online) for the third quarter.

Enrollment is required for certain benefits.
If activation is necessary for a benefit, it will be marked as “Enrollment Required.” Clicking on the tile allows you to activate the benefit and start enjoying the credit or perk.
In the example above, you’ll see that I still need to enroll in Marriott Gold status (since I have Platinum status through another card) and must enroll in Leaders Club Sterling status with The Leading Hotels of the World.
Business Platinum Benefits Overview
Business Platinum cardholders can expect a similar experience. The interface mirrors the personal version but showcases distinct benefits like Indeed (offering up to $360 in statement credits per year, enrollment required) and U.S. wireless services credits (up to $120 per year, enrollment required). You can track how much you’ve used and what remains.
This consolidated information is especially advantageous for small-business owners who want to ensure they’re fully utilizing their benefits.
Current Limitations
At this time, this feature is exclusive to Platinum-branded cards.
Cobranded cards, such as those from Delta Air Lines and Hilton, do not currently display a list of benefits or track statement credits in the app. This means you’ll need to maintain your own records or rely on statement updates for those products.
For instance, I haven’t yet utilized my up-to-$200 biannual Hilton resorts statement credit for the latter half of the year, but I have redeemed my up-to-$50 flight statement credit for this quarter on my Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, and neither of these credits are tracked within the Amex app.
It’s possible that American Express may extend this feature to other cards in the future, but for now, it’s a benefit exclusive to Platinum cardholders.
About the New Amex Travel App
American Express has also launched a new Amex Travel app for iOS (with an Android version expected in October).
This app, separate from the main Amex app, is designed to assist cardholders in planning trips, exploring new destinations, and checking real-time wait times at Centurion Lounge locations.
While it doesn’t display your benefits or credits, it’s a valuable tool when traveling and planning your journeys.
Conclusion
The updated American Express app significantly enhances the process of enrolling in and tracking your Platinum card benefits.
By clearly showing available statement credits, usage, and reset frequencies, the app helps ensure you don’t overlook valuable perks in return for your high annual fee.
If you possess the Platinum or Business Platinum, it’s advisable to open the app and see what benefits you might not be utilizing fully.
