When to Transfer Chase Points to British Airways?

Flying Frugal places a value of 2.05 cents on Chase Ultimate Rewards points and 1.4 cents on Avios, according to their December 2025 evaluations.

Compare the value of redeeming Avios for award travel to the cash rate or the value when booking via the Chase Travel™ portal to ensure you’re maximizing your Ultimate Rewards points.

Here are some strategic ways to redeem Avios effectively:

  • Short-haul domestic flights on American Airlines or Alaska Airlines can be booked for as low as 13,500 Avios one-way, plus $5.60 in taxes.
  • Flights from the West Coast to Hawaii on American or Alaska Airlines cost only 22,000 Avios each way, plus $5.60 in fees, under 3,000 miles.
  • Fly Qatar Airways’ Qsuite to Doha for 70,000 Avios (aside from taxes) when there’s saver availability.
  • Off-peak flights to Ireland via Aer Lingus start at just 15,500 Avios, plus taxes—excellent for transatlantic travel.
