Royal Caribbean has announced that it will introduce Perfect Day Mexico, its latest destination experience, in 2027.
Following the success of its immersive private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, which debuted in 2019, Perfect Day Mexico will join other exciting destinations such as Royal Beach Club Paradise Island (opening in December) and Royal Beach Club Cozumel, both launching in 2026, as part of Royal Caribbean’s branded destination portfolio.
As Kara Wallace, Royal Caribbean’s Chief Marketing Officer, mentioned in an interview, “Perfect Day at CocoCay is our No. 1 rated port of call, even above destinations like Alaska, Shanghai, or Sydney. This unique experience truly stands out among the 300-plus locations we visit.”
Starting in 2027, guests aboard Royal Caribbean ships departing from Texas, Florida, and the Gulf Coast will be able to visit Perfect Day Mexico.
What makes this new destination so exciting? Perfect Day Mexico promises a host of aquatic adventures.
Highlights include the tallest waterslide tower in the Americas at 170 feet, the world’s tallest waterslide drop, and the largest raft slide in existence.
Cruisers can also try the world’s first Sombrero Slide, designed in the shape of Mexico’s iconic hat.
Three hydrolaunch slides will send guests soaring, with a swim-up bar nearby for spectators to enjoy the action.
Wallace noted, “Mexico was an ideal location for Perfect Day due to its proximity to the Gulf Coast and our operations in Galveston. With the addition of Perfect Day Mexico and the Royal Beach Club in Cozumel, we can now offer 90% of our Caribbean guests incredible experiences.”

Perfect Day Mexico will also feature six expansive swimming pools covering an area equivalent to four football fields, alongside the world’s longest lazy river. Guests can enjoy swim-up bars throughout the lazy river for easy access to refreshments, with flotation tubes designed for beverage convenience.
Families can enjoy the largest-ever Splashaway Bay water park, along with the debut of Splashaway Cabanas designed specifically for families. The resort will feature a total of 141 cabanas across seven distinct neighborhoods, each offering unique vibes and amenities.
Wallace emphasized, “Our expansion into land creates a comprehensive vacation experience that rivals any other getaway. For those familiar with Perfect Day at CocoCay, while there will be similarities, Perfect Day Mexico promises an abundance of new attractions. With each endeavor, we learn and grow, enhancing our offerings to help guests create unforgettable memories.”
The exact opening dates and itineraries for Perfect Day Mexico have not been officially revealed but the new destination is anticipated to begin operations in 2027, situated in what is currently known as Costa Maya, Mexico.
