The Matrix Airfare Search by ITA Software shows a price of $701 (Regular Economy). Using those dates on American Airlines should adjust to $501 (Basic Economy) and $701 (Regular Economy).
The $701 fare with American, British Airways, Finnair, and Iberia includes one checked bag and a standard carry-on in Regular Economy.
There’s also a $501 fare in Basic Economy/Economy Light, which comes with some restrictions:
- NO advance seat assignments.
- NO checked bags included – these cost $75 each way for the first bag and $100 for the second.
- NO changes are allowed.
- NO cancellations permitted – if you decide to cancel after the 24-hour risk-free period, your Basic Economy ticket will not hold value for future travel.
- Many online travel agencies do not correctly label these fares as BASIC ECONOMY for American, British Airways, Finnair, and Iberia.
From January 8th, 2025, you’ll need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the UK. The ETA costs £16 for two years. If you’re just transiting through the UK, you won’t need one unless you pass through border control. Be wary of scam sites charging more than the official £16 fee from the UK Government.
