The fare of $622 includes seat selection, a standard carry-on, and one checked bag.
Delta, Air France, and KLM also offer a lower fare of $422, but it’s a Basic Economy ticket with some limitations. Here are the restrictions for their International Basic Economy fares:
- Advance seat assignments are NOT allowed.
- Checked bags are NOT included – a fee of $75 for the first bag and $100 for the second will apply.
- No changes permitted.
- Cancellations are NOT permitted – if you cancel after the 24-hour risk-free period, the Basic Economy ticket will hold no future value.
- Mileage earning is NOT allowed.
- Many online travel agencies may not clearly show the Air France / KLM Royal Dutch Basic Economy / Economy Light fares.

- Valid for travel from late September to mid-October. Limited availability. Tickets must be purchased at least 7 days before departure.

How to Search for Availability:

- Origin Advanced Routing Code:

- Extension Codes: f .. VKN02LBR; -overnight
- This instructs Matrix to search for the Basic Economy fare. You can then choose a normal economy upgrade on Delta.
- Destination: KEF
- Return Advanced Routing Code:
- Routing Codes: DL DL
- Extension Codes: f .. VKN02LBR; -overnight
- (Click on the Advanced Codes link to enable the input for routing codes)
- Select “See calendar of lowest fares”
- Duration “3-10” (This is just a sample; you can use any 7-day range.)
